What is the purpose of the program?

The Purpose of the Pioneers Program for Students with Unique Abilities is to empower students by providing foundational foodservice skills in an inclusive and encouraging environment. This program focuses on building confidence, independence, and a sense of accomplishment while helping students develop valuable life and career skills.

Who is Eligible to Partake in This Program?

To  be eligible for participation in the Pioneers Program for Students with Unique Abilities, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Provide a proof of identification
  • Submit a completed program application
  • Submit a signed commitment letter
  • Provide a transcript from their most recent school
  • Must have exited the K-12 school system
  • Meet eligibility criteria for an intellectual disability 
  • Demonstrate college/campus-appropriate behavior
  • Be able to attend the program at least half-time
